Kokeshi Yorokobi
Kokeshi made and hand painted by Usaburo Kokeshi. The name Yorokobi in Japanese means "joy". This kokeshi wears a red kimono decorated with plum blossoms (ume). Chestnut wood was used to create the body and head of this kokeshi, while Mizuki (Japanese dogwood) was used for the face. The kokeshi is accompanied by a wooden plate, with its name and the stamp of the craftsman who made it. The doll is 21cm tall and has a diameter of 9.5cm. Original packaging is included, stamped and signed by the artist who created the kokeshi.
