Kokeshi Izumino
Kokeshi Izumino
Kokeshi made and hand painted by the award-winning artist Masae Fujikawa, who won the "Prime Minister" award in 1996 and 2002 and the "Minister of Agriculture, forestry and Fishery" award in 1995 and 1996.
The term Izumino means "Spring Field". The purity of nature and love for the environment is what inspired the creation of this doll. Enchanting shades of green tones and iris flowers are hand painted on her kimono.
The wood used for the creation of this kokeshi is Mizuki (Japanese dogwood). The kokeshi stands 20cm tall and 8cm in diameter. It is accompanied by a small wooden plaque, with his name, the name and the stamp of the craftsman who made it. Original packaging is included, stamped and signed by the artist who created the kokeshi.
