Kokeshi Kabukie
Kokeshi Kabukie
Kokeshi made and hand painted by the artist Masayoshi Yamagishi. This kokeshi wears a white kimono on which two characters from the kabuki theater are depicted. Kabuki is a traditional Japanese theatrical performance based on dance, skill and song, which was born and developed at the beginning of the 17th century. At first Kabuki was recited only by women and later only by men, even for the female parts. The stories brought to the stage are basically of two types: those with a historical setting, with references to the samurai era, and those with a familiar and everyday background.
This doll is 15cm tall. Original packaging is included, stamped and signed by the artist who created the kokeshi.
