Daruma
Daruma
Daruma is a Japanese doll, modeled in the symbolic image of Bodhidharma, one of the founders and first patriarch of Zen Buddhism. It is round in shape without arms or legs, and has a stylized man's face with a beard and mustache and white eyes without pupils. Using black ink, you need to draw only one eye expressing a wish or setting a goal to reach; if the wish were to come true or the goal were to be reached, the second eye will also be drawn. The doll is made of papier-mâché and the base is made in such a way that if pushed to one side, it will return to its position without falling. For this reason Daruma has become a symbol of optimism, perseverance and strong determination and is often used as a gift of encouragement and good luck charm. Measurements: height 12cm
