Bunka SG2
Bunka SG2
Bunka handmade by the Suncraft company in the city of Seki, in the prefecture of Gifu, Japan. The blade is made of SG2 steel, which is one of the best stainless steels. SG2 is a powdered steel from Takefu steel mills. Powdered steels are currently the hardest steels available for knife making, which means the knife will keep a smooth and sharp edge for a long time. The blade measures 16.5mm and has a hardness of 62-63 Rockwell. The handle is made of dark brown pakka wood, octagonal in shape, and fits well in the hand.
The Bunka is a very versatile knife and can be used for both fish, meat and vegetables.
This knife if used and treated with care is destined to last a long time.
Use and maintenance:
- Wash by hand after each use, without the use of harmful detergents and metal sponges that could damage the blade, and dry the knife with a soft cloth.
- Do not cut bones or frozen food as the blade may chip.
